Week 11 - Sneak peak of the set!

As you can our see set is quite abstract and quirky in the way that it looks, we have random props and cups and saucers to dress the tables and bar to give off this feel of a quirky cafe. The fabulous menu we had made will be hung over the bar for us, which will really bring the cafe to life.

As you can see it is all very mismatching and and random, which is exactly the look we were going for. We wanted it to look like this to reflect the nature of the play, to highlight that we are reflecting on relationships and couples that are quite contrasting and different, just like the set and props. Also I think have so much going on in the set, makes it look quirky, unique and maybe even a little confusing, which I think also successfully explains our nature of our piece.
The chairs and tables with their back to the curtain, will be the ones in which the audience will sit at. As you can see from the picture the audience have mismatching chairs and tables also, highlighting that are involved in the piece, their reaction is important to this piece. Additionally them having mismatching furniture highlights that they are also in the cafe, as well as making them feel as part of the piece.
